Headbang with Spektral Bank

Balzers – Spektral Bank is the new main sponsor of the OpenHair Metal (OHM) Festival. The region’s only metal event will take place on the first weekend in May 2019 at the Rheinau sports complex in Balzers. The event has established itself during the past three years and now has a main sponsor for the first time with Spektral Bank.

The sponsorship commitment is very much in keeping with the Bank’s entrepreneurial DNA. “We like to go off the beaten track and enter into new partnerships”, says Head of Sponsorship Leonie Gehler. For some years now, the Bank has been committed to Crossover Finance and as a result it is benefiting time and again from partnerships that appear unusual at first glance. “This openness sparks inspiration and provides new perspectives”, says CEO Edi Wögerer.

For as long as it has existed, Spektral Bank has supported associations from Balzers, living up to its social responsibility in the process. Since recently, the Bank has also been cooperating with the University of Liechtenstein in the areas of blockchain and fintech. Partnership-based research projects, projects with students and a Certificate programme are the main aims of the collaboration. The course will start for the first time in February 2019. Impressive line-up

Following the collaboration with the University of Liechtenstein, Spektral Bank is now to become main sponsor of the OHM Festival. The Bank is impressed by the dedication of the association and the considerable commitment it demonstrates itself as well as by the more than 50 helpers who have been making the festival possible for three years. The OHM Festival attracts metal fans from throughout Europe and repeatedly surprises with its impressive line-up comprising international and local bands. Following in the footsteps of the American sludge metal band Crowbar, who appeared at the festival in 2017, bands from seven different nations took to the stage last year, including Krisiun from Brazil. “The OHM Festival is the only metal festival in Liechtenstein and the surrounding area and this is despite the fact that globally Liechtenstein is one of the countries with the highest number of metal bands per capita”, states OHM Festival Marketing Manager Björn Andreoli. “We very deliberately opted for this niche, a decision that has not always made it easy to find financing. During the first years of the festival, we paid for the stage and the bands’ fees in advance from our own pockets and then hoped that we would generate enough revenues”, he says laughing. This passion has paid off, with metal fans showing their gratitude to the organisers by coming to Balzers in ever greater numbers.

The OHM Festival will take place on 3 and 4 May 2019 at the Rheinau sports complex in Balzers and tickets are already available. Further information can be found at www.ohm-festival.li.
